Question Good free torrent sites?

I first heard of torrents when I joined urban in 2001.

I'm still not entirely sure what they are. :(
Peer to peer file sharing. Essentially you download bits of files from lots of people and simultaneously upload the same files to others who want them.

proxybay.bz then click on a pirate bay link
may need VPN to get on it - i need VPN as my provider blocks proxybay.bz

Just download Opera and browse sites with the built in VPN. Does use the VPN for the torrerents, but it's very unlikely your ISP will block these.

You can just go straight to the Pirate Bay that way.

Fwiw if anyone is sure they can maintain a ratio then drop me a PM as I probably have spare invites for a private tracker.

BUMP

everytime i try and download anything (from one of the piratebays) i get this
crap.png

...so I dont download, some weird dodge .exe thing on seemingly all files
anyone experience this or can recommend an alternative
thanks

Ah. Those are proxy sites, not the official one. They may have been fine in the past, but now aren't.

I'd use the real thing which is thepiratebay.org. I access it with a free vpn extension for my browser, but don't use a VPN to download with as that would be expensive.
thanks

sly bastards!! theyve been playing the long game i guess
when you search on those the same results come up as the real thing

If ever in doubt use a google term like real pirate bay address and be selective with what you pick. Those proxy sites sometimes look a bit "wrong" if you know what your looking at.

Some of the proxies still work but I only use them if torrentquest or rutracker don't have what I'm looking for.

1337x.to I've found to be more reliable than PirateBay. Especially like the trending charts to figure out what's new and interesting.

That's what I came to recommend when I noticed this thread. Been really good for films and TV shows.

I use rarbg.to (not to be confused with the clone site rargb.to). It's very unusual not to find what I want on there.
