That's interesting. Processed foods were one of his betes noires. It was actuated by a genuine outrage at the poor nutrition of working people - but frankly, it gets a bit wearying when he allies it to his wider dislike for much of the mass material culture of his time. You know it wont be long before he's banging on about how many cwt of mud he's dug up for mangelwurzels or whatever the hell he did like.George Orwell's concerns still ring true today don't they...
I like the word he seemly coined, 'frood', to describe frozen food. I guess the word didn't catch on.
