Theydon Bois – the town that has no street lights

I've not heard it pronounced as you suggest, only "byoo-lee".

"Li-oo", with a very short first bit.

So we've established how to pronounce Theydon Bois; how does everyone pronounce its neighbour, Hainault? I'd always done it in a French style, sounding like Bernard Hinault's surname, but apparently it's "Hay-nolt".
Ey-No

(Ey no no-no, sing this corrosion to me….)

it's quite nice top get off one stop early on the central line and walk through Epping Forrest...you walk over one of those tunnel bits on the M25. There is a nice pub just before downtown Theydon Boys

correction....get off at Theydon and walk to Epping
Was going to say I have a cracking monster walk from Bois to Loughton via two iron age forts and much else. Should organise for the community thread.
