Interesting decision from Chatham to start a supporters Whatsapp group. Presumably only admins will be able to post or will be chaos (can you do that on Whatsapp?)

Will be very interesting to see if this makes a difference. If they retain the same squad they’ve got more than enough to keep going, and can’t imagine those providing the finance are going to cut their losses now.Isthmian Premier Division leaders Hornchurch are now looking for a new manager. I reckon that potentially blows the door open for someone else to finish top with a strong second half of the season.
Steve Morison: Sutton United appoint ex-Cardiff City boss as manager
League Two's bottom side Sutton United appoint former Cardiff City boss Steve Morison as their manager.www.bbc.co.uk
I'm sure all the best players will be under contract, they'll be on good wages, there's no incentive for any of them to want to leave. It's just a variable they don't need, the new manager will need to work with the players he inherits, so a poorly judged appointment could may upset the balance. Will be very interesting to see if this makes a difference. Top-level shit-housery from Truro.Oof, Dartford travelled all the way to Truro tonight only to find a frozen pitch waiting for them. Needless to say, they are not best pleased.

At Non League level this shit has been going on for far too long. What it shows is the shitcunts that officiate from above and odious wankpots that sit on the boards of these leagues need to start thinking of the little supporter who pays their money to travel over land and sea to follow their club.
We have to have a united front against this.........Only when that's not Dartford fans because fuck them.

Change at Dartford, Dowson out
Club Statement: Alan Dowson - Dartford Football Club Official Website
Over the years, we have said many times that Dartford Football Club is nothing without the network of supporters, local sponsors, friends and wider community who make the club what it is. The non-league game is very different from the big money business that national football has become and the...www.dartfordfc.com
The minority of scumbags at Dartford won't be travelling to Devon for a midweek league game anyway, it's the best loyal supporters who get shafted.Only when that's not Dartford fans because fuck them.
He's been a serial winner as a manager. Promotion within 2 years at all 4 previous clubs he's managed: Walton & Hersham, Kingstonian, Hampton, Woking. Then 2nd place in his first season at Dartford, but of course that guarantees you nothing. I'm sure Dartford have a generous budget by normal standards, but I'm equally sure Yeovil, Torquay, Eastbourne, Havant and maybe a couple of others are spending more in that division. Only two can go up, and two of those are currently in the relegation zone.Only a surprise he lasted as long. For the squad and the investment Dartford, whilst unlucky last season, haver had a very poor campaign this time around and it went stale there some time ago.

This is a first failure in a 20 year managerial career encompassing 5 clubs. I guess most managers have a shelf life. Maybe his has expire? The game is full of managers who used to be successful but now seem to stumble into one more job after a string of sackings.

It's been a while since I was at Dartford to be honest- not since the early days of Steve King. What's the scumbag element story? When I used to watch them now and then the most horrible thing about the club was the massive BUILT BY A CONSERVATIVE COUNCIL advert running the length of one stand.
They've booed our players taking the knee.
There was an incident where several of their lot walked past our away support, saying overtly racist, homophobic, transphobic, islamaphobic and misogynistic things. I objected, was assaulted and then Dartford, as in the actual club, denied it ever happened and when asked for their cctv, said all but 1 camera was kaput.
From reading of other clubs experiences there, what happened wasn't an isolated incident either.
Ide Hill is just up the road from me. Didn't realise they'd moved to Tonbridge AngelsI posed this in the Peckham thread bu thought this might be of interest here. This might have been the lowest crowd I've ever seen, given the size of the stadium, with Ide Hill now playing at Tombridge Angels' ground. There couldn't have been more than 40 fans there.
Their home crowd struggled to get into double figures and although it's miles better than their last ground, it's not particularly easy to get to.
Maybe they're gambling that the better ground will inspire the team to better things (they stuffed Peckham 5-2) but the place is painfully devoid of atmosphere - and that's with Peckham bringing along far more fans than your average team at this level.

In photos: Goals galore as Peckham get thumped 2-5 in a ludicrously large, empty stadium, Sat 13th Jan 2024
The last time we travelled to see Ide Hill take on Peckham they were playing at Wrotham School at a tiny ground with zero facilities for travelling fans. The club has now jumped to the opposite ext…www.brixtonbuzz.com
It's all about getting promoted to the Southern Counties East League, although hooking up with a Step 2 club seems rather extreme. The Kent County League (Step 7) is the highest level you can play without floodlights and real spectator facilities. A number of other clubs in Peckham's division whose own grounds don't meet the grading for promotion have moved in with bigger neighbours in the last year or so.I posed this in the Peckham thread bu thought this might be of interest here. I heard (but can't verify) that Ide Hill have stumped up £30,000 to play at TA's ground for three years. If that's true, I can't see how that's sustainable unless they've got a deep pocketed backer - but even then, they're unlikely to attract anything other than tiny crowds. It's all about getting promoted to the Southern Counties East League, although hooking up with a Step 2 club seems rather extreme. I have to question the motivation for doing this. I don't suppose they got much paying support in Ide Hill, but who's going to watch them at Tonbridge? It's not even that local, Ide Hill is closer to Sevenoaks. Of course Chipstead moved in with Sevenoaks, then folded abruptly after only a few games last autumn.
Steps 5 and 6 are full of "village" clubs groundsharing in front of tiny attendances. I don't know anything about most of them. Some appear to be glorified parks teams where one or two benefactors must be spending thousands a year to play a league or two above their natural level. Others may have an extensive infrastructure of junior teams, so maybe it's a kind of marketing tool or status symbol for the club to have a men's team in the county league, but it must cost a fair bit to sustain that level in rent alone.
That doesn't surprise me at all. Which begs the questions of why are they doing this, and how are they funding it? On the face of it, it just looks like a rather vain ego trip for someone with a lot of spare cash.I heard (but can't verify) that Ide Hill have stumped up £30,000 to play at TA's ground for three years.
