think there was no way back for him after his description of his squad as " not a strong group". Way to motivate your players  I suspect the embarrassing facing up to the fans yesterday-Phil Brown without the players- didn't help either.

a period of silence from di Canio would be welcome. Clearly way out of his depth at the top level, even if he did well overall with Swindon.

Self-aggrandising rhetoric only works if you're getting results. Sunderland are a dis-spirited shambles clearly not playing for their manager.

British clubs have mainly done okay in the Champions league. Celtic kept it to only 1-0 with ten men against Barcelona!

Solid wins for the London clubs yesterday. Even Man United managing to stay level against the mighty Shakhtar so far.

Bayern beating Man City 0-3 at Maine Rd with 70% possession is a bit sobering though. This is the Man City that stuffed Man Utd by three goals at home. They looked unbeatable in that game but are being owned by ze Germans

Is Joe Hart still Head and Shoulders above any other English goalie ? :D,having a right howler tonight...

Who is number 2? A few commentators have asked what pressure he is under at City and for England?

Fraser Forster for England. Played a blinder against Barca the other night, not for the first time either.

Atherstone fans run on to the pitch at half time vs Barrow today and attack Barrow's subs

Lazio threaten legal action following suggestion that their Cameroonian player Joseph Minala is 41, not 17::eek:

BBC.

Given the overwhelming prevalence of premiership team-specific threads in this forum, it's time for the fans to fight back and discuss the real issues in football:

Will Luton Town get back in the football league at the fifth time of asking?
By the way, the answer to this now is, emphatically, YES.

We're 15 points clear at the top with 11 games to go. Only lost 2 all season. Unbeaten for a club record 27 games. :)

Fuck the FA, we're on our way back!

How on earth are *Alfreton* third in that table? they are a part time club managed by Nicky Law.

I was at Bromley v Bath City the other week- I am at home visiting for a bit. Bromley are top of the table in Conference South but really don't look any great shakes, other than top scoring forward Goldberg, and captain Rob Swaine at centre half. That team will need reviatlised if they do hang on to top spot and go up.

Bath were mediocre, too, a one dimensional long ball side, other than nippy little Watkins at no. 10, but Bromley weren't good enough to see them off. A 2-2 draw in front of a crowd over 1,000. Oh, and Josh Low is still conving supporters in their thousands that he is a massive bell-end. Lucky not be sent off in the game.

Be nice to see Cambridge back in the league too hopefully :)
Yeah…our games with them have always had a decent atmosphere & attendance over the past few years. Over 6,000 at Cambridge the other night for our game against them and 7,500 at ours last year. It's nice to see a crowd - some of the conferece teams like Alfreton bring barely 50 or 100, Forest Green brought 17 once!

It's been long enough, Brixton Hatter!

Got to agree with you too, strung out. Been a while since i've been to Cambridge away.
Yeah Cambridge is a great day out. Loads of great pubs. Invariably ends up in a cider/ale haze on the train home.

steeplejack Bath is also a good day out. Went a few times to see Luton in the past few years when Bath were in the conference. However I saw possibly the worst game of football I've ever seen in my life there. 0-0. We were shit but Bath were too. Clearly not much changes!

Tomorrow could be the day we return to the football league, 5 years after being relegated to the conference and 6 years after the FA and Football League screwed us by deducting 30 points.

Here's the table:
