Found myself in here just this week (unemployed, so passing a lot of time digging!) and it was a very pleasant experience.
Picked up some Smith & Mighty releases for not much £, which was nice.

I love Soul Brother records. Such a tiny place but they have some awesome rarities and re-issues of so much jazz and soul. I could spend hundreds in there if only I had the budget.

Third man is a brilliant shop but it is niche! They do some great blues reissues and merch but you have to be a fan of Jack White really! :D

Not mentioned on the list above is Flashback records at Shoreditch.
I would also give a shout out for Andy's in Aberstwyth and 101s in Farnham.

Is Cob Records in Porthmadog that one that used to do all the punk stuff back in the day? have a dim recall of making a special trip out there with my mates as a teen, but they were the punks rather than me who was a fellow traveller only in both senses. Somewhere in North Wales, anyway.

I think Jon Savage specifically thanked them for help with tracking down some records for one of his punk books.

The Stroud local paper had an interview with the bloke running the one there, he was pleasantly surprised to be included. After my time, but the town has always had decent record shops.
Before I clicked on the link I made the prediction that it would be a 50 something bloke with a beard.

I'm delighted Cob is still going. I used to spend hours in there whilst my family went in the Ffestiniog Railway trying pick up decent Welsh language stuff. It was the only place I knew that stocked it.
