Frost/ Nixon

I know this is an ole film, but I recorded it and showed the MRs it this week - she thought it was fantastic, even though politics and history aint her thing

Why does filum "work", given its background etc ?

It's an interesting story, well-acted, the bit when Nixon calls Frost when he's pissed up has a certain resonance to it.

Think I posted on another thread about this but was really suprised at how good it was. I thought I knew most of the Frost/Nixon/Watergate thing so the film might be a bit pointless. I thought the acting was good (Nixon especially) and could watch again.

As we mostly know, the basic premise is false but it makes for as decent drama. I guess the fundamentals were good - the original stage play, that quality was present in the screen adaption and augmented by the direction and even the acting.
