France v Germany, 15th June, 8pm, ITV

Completely different player for France, isn't he..?

The odd thing is that even for France you feel that he's maybe a smidgen off his absolute best, which we've probably never seen.

That said, there is a school of thought that Zidane was massively overrated and simply had moments of genius, which might be in the same zone..
At his best, he walks into any world 11, at his worst he barely deserves picking for united. I'm not really well up on formations and stuff, but he seemed to have a bit more space last night than in the Prem. The other thing I noticed last night, which should have been obvious before, is how strong he is when being challenged from behind, holding the ball up Mark Hughes style. The guy really has it all, great footballing IQ as well as funny, multi linguist and all the rest. Just doesn't quite come together for united.

He was really on form. Seems so stifled at ManUre by comparison :hmm:
We stand on neutral ground in this forum, there's no place for these digs. I'd appreciate you use our proper title: European Superleague Bridgewater Canal-Glazer Soccerball Franchise.

I like the way that Low made his assistant dress like him.

How have I not noticed that Low and his assistant are always wearing the exact same clothing, no matter what they are doing? I mean, that's a bit weird.

Altho it looks like he was doing the same when he was Klinsmann's assistant, so maybe it's a thing? That explains everything.

Having Kante doing Kante things must be nice for him.

Emmanuel Petit (he's blonde, he's quick, his name's a porno flick): "70% of the Earth is covered by water. The rest by Ngolo Kante"

Someone on text to the BBC: "He's playing in Germany, but Kante is also man-marking me on the sofa somehow"

Pogba was excellent, but isn't it strange how anyone partnering Kante (Danny Drinkwater anyone?) instantly becomes a better player

Kante is the best midfielder of his type in the world.

Apart from Declan Rice obviously.
