Farmers protesting in EU

Farmers are protesting across the EU. Germany, France, Ireland... Expect to see tractors outside Dail Éireann in Dublin tomorrow. Motorways on the continent have been blocked, and manure dumped outside of banks.

The EU claims it's regulations and laws relate to emissions. While likely soon importing untaxed unlimited beef from the Mercosur bloc (South America's version of the EU).

So much greenwashing. Little in MSM.

Are you with the farmers?

Nope, I've known a few and only 2 that actually interested about much beyond how to work the system, there are some proper caring small scale hill farmers in Wales but most are just right wing parasitic scum who get paid from the public purse some of which is paid to them simply because they have land....its the old robin hood in reverse thing beloved of British Lords

Right. But the fact remains that the mass of the population depends on farmers for their food.

Yeah. Changing regulations to appear echo-sustainable, while simultaneously acting outrageously towards the climate goals. How does importing meat from e.g. South America add in to the climate strategy.

By the way, farmers might mostly be arses in the UK, where 0.1% of the population owns 99% of the land.
But in numerous other countries in the EU, there is much more smaller scale farming, on land regained during wars of independence/ civil wars.
