FA Cup Saturday 2nd September

I always prefer teams from outside our own division in the cups. Typical, we've never played them in league or cup in their current guise, then we pull them as soon as they're in the same division just like Taunton last season. Historically it's the club that used to play in the Isthmian League as Tufnell Park until c.1950, and whom we beat in our first FA Amateur Cup Final in 1920, but there have been several name changes and mergers since those days. The old Tufnell Park ground is now a public recreation ground.

Maybe not competitive , but i'm sure there was a game between the two clubs at white hart lane , possibly in the time of the legendary Ralston Gabriel .

There was a pre-season match in July 2018, which Hamlet won 3-1. I'm fairly certain Walter Figueira scored one of our goals playing as a triallist, but this time he'll be on the other side.

Hornchurch have been drawn at home to Fakenham Town of the Eastern Counties League, so our league trip to Hornchurch on 16th September will be off unless they and ourselves both lose.

Bah was hoping for an away day.

Was also initially hoping for a lower league team until I realized they usually beat us, so I guess we may as well play someone at the same level and not be disgraced if we go out. Hopefully Hak has a cup run on his annual objectives though.

Just a heads up that, yet again, there will be no trains to East Dulwich on what must surely be South London's most frequently repaired section of railway. Also no service on the Overground via Denmark Hill, although Southeastern and Thameslink services via Denmark Hill appear to be running normally. There are rail replacement bus services on both affected routes.

Not sure their keeper has touched the ball yet. Apart from strolling forward 40 yards to play sweeper.

Although if it stays like this and we win, who cares! Come on Hamlet. Decent crowd, warm day, cold pints, it could be so much worse...

It got worse. What a terrible 2nd half! Two very poor teams but Dulwich allowed Borough to control the play. Mills was isolated and the midfield non-existent. As for their pen it looked incredibly soft. As soon as their player ran in to the box we knew he'd go down and the red bought it. Altogether very disappointing.

Fuck knows what Hak is up to, absolutely no apparent game plan. Played like 11 guys who just met.

Clearly we were struggling to see it out so he subs on the two biggest liabilities in recent Hamlet history, Manny Parry and Kar Krashniqi.

Needless to say it did not go well.

I'm sure everyone in the squad is individually talented but what we are seeing on the pitch is way less than the sum of the parts. And that's down to the coaching team.

That was a difficult watch . I can see the thinking in keeping it tight with 5 in midfield and a back 4 after our last few games....but it is not Mills game to play up on his own and chase around. Credit to him for winning pen and free kicks. Makes you wonder about the signing of Clifton. Surely more his type of game . Doesn't really seen to be in Hakans thoughts even though he was a bit of a fanfare signing.. I know Hampton wanted him back in the league above after his loan signing there last year.

On.the plus side I thought Chambers had his best game since his return and thought Scarlett did well.

Think that’s me done for a while.

After all the noise on the pitch about a team who would wear the shirt with pride and off the pitch about learning the lessons of recent seasons, it seems we’re still going backwards in nearly all departments.

The football is horrible and engagement with the supporters is non-existent. Can’t be bothered to waste my time on that.

A poor game by both sides exemplifiing their current league form. One positive is only conceding one goal, despite not having much control of the game.

Woeful game between two poor sides. Draw fair enough. Both penalties looked soft from where I was but didn't have a great view of either.

Concerning to see the type of football that we set up to play. Was extremely direct. I struggle to think of a meaningful touch of the ball that our starting midfield 3 had. Only Wanadio showed any sort of creativity.

Fear we're looking at watching a lot of turgid games while Hak tries to make us harder to beat.

Must admit I got to St Francis Park just after half time on the way back from my Peckham game, heard the chants dominated by the Haringey fans and decided that it wasn’t worth splashing out £x for 45 minutes of footie. Definitely made the right choice reading these comments. Peckham won 19-0 by the way.

We said exactly the same. Giving it a miss for a month. You can easily miss games and you won’t have missed anything because they’re all the same.. turgid and absolutely zero entertainment. Canvey seems like light years away
