FL, I have already discussed this many times on this forum, starting with this thread and in particular in a "debate" with BA. If memory serves something about "convincing one on planned economy" or some such thread but also elsewhere. Just search under my nick...

In the stuff about power re: the Balkans. It was interesting.

Kind of reminded me tangentially of the Japanese experience of capitalism, cf Ollman's 'Why the Emperor needs the Yakuza'.
 
So, economics for a crowded planet, then.

I would have thought that the starting point has to be a system that is not predicated on growth in economic output.
 
Harvey point from his Marx studies. Indeed. If it is left like that - we're screwed.

Revolutionaries count on it, though. Because crisis points are looming then. Just a matter of when.

However, we have learnt better before and managed to change and manage our silly ways differently...

So, we'll see...
