Dpreview is to close

I don't know how many of you use the dpreview camera reviews and forums.

I have used them extensively and it felt like they were part of the internet background.

Never did I think Amazon would just close it!

I guess I will be on the lookout for a new online photography home.

The site says:
ear readers,

After nearly 25 years of operation, DPReview will be closing in the near future. This difficult decision is part of the annual operating plan review that our parent company shared earlier this year.

The site will remain active until April 10, and the editorial team is still working on reviews and looking forward to delivering some of our best-ever content.

Everyone on our staff was a reader and fan of DPReview before working here, and we’re grateful for the communities that formed around the site.

Thank you for your support over the years, and we hope you’ll join us in the coming weeks as we celebrate this journey.

That is a shame - for a long time that would the place to go for camera reviews.

Which reminds me - remember Engadget? That's another site that seems to be slowly fading away.

I've used DP review for every camera purchase since I went digital and always recommend it to friends to check out specs and compare them.
Can't believe they'd just chop it. It must have driven a reasonable amount of traffic towards Amazon stores.

I don't quite know what is going on.

The deadline seems to have come and gone yet people are still posting in the forums and dpreview is still posting articles.
