After being made unemployed by the pandemic I decided to take up a part-time postgrad course.
The university disabilities department has advised me to apply for disabled students allowance.
But looking at the form it asks if I'm behind on my previous students loan payments, which I am. (I've studiously ignored demands to pay back my loans on point of principle coz undergrad education should be free.)
Also, I'm currently receiving Universal Credit and looking for work. Are you allowed to claim UC if you're studying postgrad part-time? Will applying for the student disability allowance flag me up on the system and cause more trouble than its worth?
Should I apply or not? I don't really need it - for dyslexia it pays of a computer and six studying skill sessions. I already have a decent computer and don't think the study skills session are that big of a deal for me. Advice please.
