Such a shame. RIP.


Just goes to show how much we take our musicians for granted. I never saw Desmond Dekker play, but I always assumed our paths would cross at a festival sometime so didn't go out of my way. Same with the Go-Betweens these last few years. Because I'd seen them quite a bit, I didn't bother going to their shows in 2005 and 2004 - I thought "there'll always be another chance to see the Go-Betweens". No longer.



RIP to them all.

I remember seeing Desmond Dekker on TOTP when I was in my early teens - 'Israelites' has got to be one of the catchiest, most danceable songs ever.

(also had a ticket to see the Go-Betweens last year but had to forgo it due to my mum being very ill. When discussing Grant McLennon's death with my bro' his comment was 'he's dead but Keith Richards is still alive...the injustice...!
