Ah, that's a real shame. I've always had a soft spot for him - his 12"s were one of the few things in my dad's collection that I used to pilfer.

I'd also had my best Welsh gig experience with Desmond Dekker,watching him play the Aberystwyth Arts Centre of all places. A little man in military fatigues, huge smile on his face, having a great time with his family band. Smiles all round. He'll be missed. RIP Desmond.

May that Vitalite advert pay his family's bills forever.
