I think the election in Palestine is going to prove a much bigger headache for the Countries calling for Democracy in the Middle East than just Hamas.
If you look at the reaction to the election of Hamas the first thing many Western Governments have done is threaten to withdraw funding for the Palestinian territory, but the people of Palestine have had free democratic election and have decided they want Hamas to lead/represent them.
What message is this sending to the Arab World where democracy is not common but is being pushed in the region by outside Governments? How can Europe, the USA and other square the circle; they want democracy but only if you vote for the party they will accept; that isn’t democracy.
