Constantine and Timecop

IMDB link for the Prophecy filums pls dotty...

I actually enjoyed Constantine because I'm not a comic book fanboi.

Yeah man, I love shitehole pseudo-relgious movies - I even watched Legion and got some vicarious thrills from it's John Carpenter rip-off approach, heavy firepower and kick-ass Gabriel.

On the subject of Timecop; that's a Van Damme, right? A mate recommended JCVD recently, sounds awesome - anyone here seen it?

It excellent!
When I friend came over and suggested watching a Van Damme film I was totally bemused but after watching it I was delighted!
It is really cheesy but totally odd and funny and oh I dunno but well worth a watch imho.

Along similar lines, what's the name of the Carpenter movie where the devil is about to re-emerge into the planet via the medium of a large tube of sludge, and is basically 'Assault on Precint 13' but with devil-controlled humans invading the place where the vessel is, instead of hoods rousting the po-leece.

I love the imdb for Prince of Darkness:

"they discover that the liquid contains the essence of Satan himself, and they also discover that he will release HIS father - an all-powerful Anti-God!"

Sounds like proper shite movie night fodder :D

I've seen 2/3 of it once - there was a pressing engagement elsewhere - but I didn't get to see the cylinder of green goo do anything.

Yes, a cylinder of green goo is the Essence of Satan. Brilliant low-budget prop.

Of course you are, look at your username ffs :D

Can't forget to mention that film in a discussion of quasi-catholic cinema, compare and contrast Gabriel Byrne as the troubled priest in this with his portrayal of a slimey Devil in the rubbish End Of Days.

Oh god that was a shit film. Arnie vs the Devil.

The one redeeming feature was that we saw it one rainy afternoon in New York and so were able to think "Ooh, that is just outside"

It was more amusement at the fact you needed the link posting, it's the first result for 'Prophecy' on IMDB ;)

The films are a good laugh.

I loved the first three prophecy films, with all the pseudo religious mythologising but the latest two (both 2005) look like completely unrelated bollocks - has any sequel-whore managed to watch them?

Not seen the two newest sequels. TBF all that holds 3 together is Walken. I'm imagining if he isn't in the latest two they will be proper shit instead of entertaining shit
