I hope to be there by 6.45pm, 7pm at the latest.
Thanks to you boohoo and @billythe fish for being the welcome committee. Thanks for the guided tour of the place - its like a tardis in there. Love the venue, and the customers, was really friendly.

It's a tiresome poke at 'nu-Brixton' types who apparently ALL wear Nathan Barley hats.
Nathan Barley? who he?

I just posted up a short review of the bar here: http://www.brixtonbuzz.com/2014/12/...ree-we-love-this-alternative-sw9-cafebarclub/

Good review - you haven't mentioned it's in Stockwell - it's not Clapham or Brixton but Stockwell!!! Very clearly Stockwell near the old village green which is older than Brixton.
Actually, I listed the address as being in Stockwell, although it sits in a bit of a no-man's land. It's much closer to Clapham North tube than Stockwell and the postcode changes to SW4 just up the road!

Still it is by the oldest bit of Stockwell before the tube arrived. It is on the site of the Duke of Bedford's land where the Stockwell Stallion was bred. In 1876 it was Stockwell Ward. It is Stockwell. An estate agent might rebrand it as Brixton or Clapham to sell it but it is Stockwell. Landor Road was called Stockwell Private Road.

I lived around there for two years and no one called it Stockwell that I recall. Always Clapham North.
Ten years ago certain estate agents where claiming Baytree road was Clapham North.:D They are doing the same now with the new builds in Stockwell. Years back i used to hear people mention Cafe Cairo as being in Clapham, Nowadays it's mostly referred to as being in Brixton, I don't know why this has changed but maybe people see the address on their phones or flyers and see the sw9 postcode and Automatically think of Brixton.

I grew up around there and my mate lived close to Cafe cairo and she would have said she was from Stockwell - this was the early 80s. I also lived near there a few years ago and it was still Stockwell.

I'm talking 96-97. People were generally righterer around those times.
