Bulldog Bash 2014

Well the bash is back on and at £40 makes for a cheap bike focused piss up. Anyone up for going? We have tickets already. :)

What was it like?

well tbh.. I can't even remember exactly when it was.. I would have been late teens/early twenties and I went to quite a lot of biker and other festivals at that time - so I'm not entirely sure. There was a lot of speed and poppers about... so a pretty useless review there - sorry!

Good good. I've been feeling excited and apprehensive in equal measure, so this is all very reassuring so far :)

If you can't remember it, it was probably great :D

I went for years too, iirc the first one may have been in aboout 1988? i used to always go to the kent custom bike show, and usually got to work them as well, when they started the bash i got offered work there too. Always a lot of fun :)

I think I might have been to this one too.. at one point i worked for a bike magazine and did some festivals on the stall - although I think they were out west somewhere.

We even did a bike trip to Le Mans - part of which ended up in A&E..

not Back Street Heroes (gosh this conversation is bringing back memories). It was called British Bike and was operated out of South Wales .. I just did it as a p/t job for a while whilst living in Cardiff. Before that I was South London/Kent and happened to have a boyfriend who was into chopping bikes. In fact I ran away from my convent school to move in with him. It was quite a good rebellion on my behalf. :D We had a bike accident in Penge that resulted in a court case and me receiving compensation and I used the money to get my own bike licence and an MZ...

I went in '91 I think. Engine played. And Dumpy's probably. Engine and Dumpy's played everything around then. They probably still do :D

Sweet FA your right! dumpys rusty nuts were everywhere :D

1000s of bikes on site with pissed bikers was always erm interesting. Though they'll probably be under quite heavy manners this year won't they? The shit on site at Bulldog, Magna Carta, Kent etc :eek::D:cool:

almost definitely then... Maggot had some friends in common too.. the whole Bromley punk/biker/alternative scene. I was only young really compared to most of them.

lol I was one of the bromley punks! used to hang around outside bonaparts record store in station square on sat afternoons and stuff ;) . a few years later i ended up with a biker in the medway towns :)

The name is very familiar but I've no idea what they did...
The classic Boxhill or Bust. This is now your new anthem Mation and you must sing it lustily at every opportunity; "Boxhill, Boxhill, here we come, I ain't happy til I've reached the ton, a cup of splosh and a greasy dog, I'm happy when I'm riding me hog"

well that's what happened with me.. a biker in Chatham in fact.. I was never a punk though.. I was a bit young for that. I did the whole goth thing with hints of punk..

wonder if it was the same biker? :hmm::D or if we met then?

I just found a copy of the magazine with my name listed on the inside cover on ebay...
