Brucie, nice to see you. RIP Bruce Forsyth.

I see the Beeb had a 1 hr pre-made obituary show with people talking about him in the past tense, and sad music end credits, ready to go.

The coffin on the conveyor belt at the crematorium should be placed between a teddy bear and a goblin teasmade as tribute to his life in show biz.

He should be plastinated by a cack-handed but jolly pensioner and younger relative who have been given a brief demonstration of the process by Gunter von Hagens

The event would be broadcast just before the Lottery on Saturday evening.

He was excruciating on Strictly at times, but in his prime he was a bit of a legend. A proper variety performer of the old school like Morcambe and Wise, you had to be a bit of everything on the circuit: stand up; character comedian; song and dance man...

Light entertainment gets looked down on a fair bit, and it isn't high culture, but it's a huge set of skills. Forsyth was Mister Saturday Night at a time when that was the very definition of Prime Time.

My earliest memories of Bruce are from Sunday night at the London Palladium. All through the game shows, chat shows and one off specials he always came over as someone who loved the limelight and performing was all he ever wanted.
Seemed a decent bloke.
RIP.

Remember a few years ago Channel 4 did a really snide documentary on Bruce where they showed him directing the action before it started. Was a real nasty mocking tone to the whole thing.

89.

Didn't he do well.

He certainly did do well to get admitted to ICU at 89 years of age with a severe chest infection in March. If he had been your average Joe I'd bet he would have been deemed end of life

I don't think that's true. Both my grandparents spent time in icu at a similar age.
