My find of the year. Top of Tulse Hill next to the White Hart. Excellent and eclectic....feels like being on holiday inside.

Sssshhhhh.....

went to a caff in lougborough junction this week...portugese run i think...out the back they have a pool table, a table football table, tables, vine leaves growing all around and little birds in a cage . Cant remember the name. Food wasnt great (budget beans, over fried hash brown etc) but the garden was great.

Another vote for Rock Steady Eddie's. Shame the original elvis-clone owner doesn't seem to be around any more.

he was funny...what did he build up on the roof that time? I know the council made him take it down...i cant remember what it was now

Express Cafe in the market is a proper cafe with loads of regular customers.
The only 'greasy spoon' ones left I can think of off the top of my head are Sam's on Acre Lane, Sem's Cafe and Barney's Cafe in Loughborough Junction and the Express cafe. I could do a much longer list of the cafes we've lost. :(

That's the brilliantly named Joel's Barney's Cafe.

The Portuguese cafes on Stockwell Road are good for fry ups and greasy spoon food. Cafe Maderia for a fry up or Funchal bakery for a omelette bap (with or without chorizo), which is a carb-fat-laden hangover delight
