Brixton Blither, Blether and Bonfire Blather - November 2012

He will blame me for these Brickers missives after the August debacle

This is not a Brickers missive. It's a Brixton thread for general brixton stuff. I'm not sure why a duplicate thread was started. Perhaps there was something new added to the FAQ saying only mods are allowed to start them from now on.

I much prefer this thread to the stickied one at the top of the page.

It could be improved by using the title Badgers suggested though.

Badgers endorsed this title, I'll have you know. Actually, I think you'll find etc.

Apparently Brixton is recorded in the Domesday Book as "Brixiestan" in 1086. http://www.onefinestay.com/london/region/brixton-309/

Perhaps the hipster influx started back then?
Full of guys like this.

The Normans were commensurate gentrifiers. That book of theirs is just a fancy estate agent's catalogue

Managed to get round two banks, the poundshop and Tescos in 50 mins today at dinnertime. Quite pleased with myself.

For the record, the longest queue was in the Halifax.

Talking of things 'you live for' I am after a mischief tech solution but no success so far. You know the beeping alert that tube doors make just as they are about to close. I would like this as an audio file that I can use on phone/tablet. The main reason is so I can make people run unnecessarily for tubes but I would also like it as a ring tone. I will buy you one pint if you have any success.

I would also chip in. So that's 2 pints and counting @Crispy
