Brentwood Town vs Dulwich Hamlet - Tuesday 12th April

Went to VCD v Hendon as reasonably local + met a Hendon pal for a few beers. Hendon won 3-2 (should've been more). Ricky Sappleton scored both VCD goals and hit the crossbar with a 30 yard piledriver. Apart from that though, VCD didn't offer much threat. Hard to imagine Sappleton was the same useless lump for Kingstonian who is now VCD's main goal scoring threat

We went to watch Fisher. They got done over 3-0 so headed to the Fox on the Hill and then the Joiners Arms where we bumped into editor

Was thinking of somewhere out Essex way but ended up at Welling vs Wrexham. God it was dire!

Si, Liverpool Street, train to Brentwood, and then a #37 bus...
Oystercards are valid to Brentwood, even though it's beyond Zone 6. (It's within one of those 'special fares apply' zones like the far northern end of the Metropolitan line.) For anyone travelling from South London and not needing to pass through Zone 1, the cheapest route should be Overground/Tube to Stratford via Canada Water or Whitechapel, then pick up a Brentwood train from there, but make sure to swipe your Oystercard on the pink reader on the overground platform. These trains run every ten minutes during evening rush hour.

The ground is in Doddinghurst Road just north of the A12, around a mile and a half from Brentwood station:

'Minor Delays Gidea Park to Shenfield while we fix a signal failure at Shenfield. GOOD SERVICE Gidea Park to Liverpool Street'

Sorry to be the bringer of bad news..... hopefully they fix it ASAP. My attendance is depends upon whether they have fixed things by 5ish when I leave work.

If you worry about minor delays, then every journey will stress you out!

see y'all at Brentwood!

I'm aiming to get the 17:57 from Denmark hill as this is the first train I can make (and the last that will get me in before K/O)
