Boots!! Suggestions Please/ boot porn thread....

Bringing YOU round.....
I want/need some new black boots. I really want some tall fitflop boots but they are rather narrow. Budget is 100 quid. I really like tall just below the knee boots of the bikerish type-stuff like fly/oxygen, quite like the wedge sole look.

I've been dithering about starting the same thread for a few days so will watch with interest.

I'm also on the hunt for boots and would like fly preferably but I seem to remember they're quite narrow.

I've seen some I like, will post later when I'm not on my phone.

i'm waiting on these atm. higher heel than i'd normally wear but my favourite boots are destroy 2" wedges and they're as comfy as flats. i'm trying not to overdo the biker look cos i'll mostly wear them with a leather biker jacket. not really relevant to your op soz, but i'm pining away waiting for them :D

A warning about Rocket Dog. I had a pair of Jeds last year which were replaced as they split from the sole at the slightest contact with water.
The replacements split too.

I'd expect that from a 20 quid pair of boots but not £65. I'll only be buying leather this year.

Shame because I love those boots.

might this also be the thread to mention i have a virtually unworn pair of these in a 7 looking for a good home? :hmm: /shameless self-promotion :D

:hmm: i like those, fat legsd thbough :D

I am banned from having new boots this year. Last years fly ones are still going well and I just cant really afford it. Winter and boots are my favourite season/footwear combo :D

I tried on the boots I've been lusting after today and they don't fit :( Similar style boots from same shop last year zipped up just fine, and I didn't by them *wails*

These are maybe not as tall as you want but nice leather biker style boots from Schuh @ £62 http://www.schuh.co.uk/womens-black-schuh-trust/1513057020/

zackly the same for me too. dangit they were perfect before they failed me. AND the top surface has kinda started peeling AND they went weird inside.
Naughty Dog.

these any good kali? searching for myself for something with a lower heel than the ridiculously high destroy ones :D listing says 7cm heel, looks higher than that to me :hmm:

edit: grrr not real leather.

I don't find them narrow at all, au contraire. I always have trouble with boots due to a high instep and fat feet and legs and there are several Fly styles that are good on me. I've just gone back into the Fly boots I bought last year and they're great. My only caveat is that they are a bit slippery in the wet - reheeling sorts that (resoling would be even better but I haven't slipped in mine since reheeling).

Ooh cheers, good to know. Think I'm going to Southampton to try some on then probably buy online after payday.

I could do with them now tbh, will have to count my pennies. Water is pissing in my boots and trainers, I'll be wearing wellies to work soon.

Can I add a warning about Blowfish boots?
I had some last year that I absolutely loved, but they weren't paricularly well made and had to have a couple of running repairs to them.
They were only £50, and I did wear them most days during the winter, but I still felt they should have lasted longer than they did.

I read that too. I did consider blowfish, in fact I found some the other day for 20 quid. That could be an interim solution to my wet foot problem.

I like these

Fly Mes. They're quite similar to my much loved but crappy Rocket Dogs.

Yes, fairly generous.
I sometimes struggle to get boots to fit around the calf, but I could get into those with room to spare.

Cheers. They haven't got your boots in my size so think I'm going to order the Hamish boots and they'll do me til I can get some fly boots and for spares.

i have those in the shorter version - they're very insubstantial, soft fabric upper and definitely not waterproof.

Yeah, I'm not expecting them to last tbh. I just really need something to keep me dry for a couple of weeks til payday. They're going to be better than what I've got short term!

I wouldn't necessarily describe the Fly ones as waterproof either really, not compared to my para boots frinstance which is what I normally wear on the motorbike. They're thin, soft leather, softly finished. I've just been out in mine and my feet didn't get wet but the leather is wet, the water doesn't bounce off.
