what size are you?

8 usually, it depends on the shoe. I'm not expecting any boot like that to be waterproof but the fly boots will be fine for me when I get them.

I drive so I'm not walking miles in them and I have walking boots and wellies too.

waterproof is essential for me cos i walk everywhere. i succumbed and ordered the buttoned ones, had a 15% code ending today and i reckon if i sell the 4 or 5 pairs i've earmarked for ebay i can prolly get the money back. i'm hoping the quality will be similar to my destroy ones, those have seen me through more than 10 winters (not full time but lots of wear)

Those buttoned boots are really nice.

I'm determined to make a good choice this year because I wear them so often.

Tempted by a pair of para boots but they'd be no good for work (I visit businesses) so would still have to buy some others. Aaarrggghhh! : D

not identical but very close, they have a slightly narrower heel, poppers instead of buckles at the ankle and hooks instead of d rings at the top. 3.75"/10cm heel. they're cheap as chips new on ebay so no point me bothering to flog them. worn once if ever.

Where did you get them? I got mine in brantano and they refused to replace them or give me a refund the second time. They just told me to contact Rocket Dog.

I don't find them narrow at all, au contraire. I always have trouble with boots due to a high instep and fat feet and legs and there are several Fly styles that are good on me. I've just gone back into the Fly boots I bought last year and they're great. My only caveat is that they are a bit slippery in the wet - reheeling sorts that (resoling would be even better but I haven't slipped in mine since reheeling).

The style is called Orode, but they don't seem to be making them now. They have two straps with adjustable buckles on the legs and I've found that their styles that have those or that lace up to be roomy enough for me. I quite fancy a pair of these, also plenty roomy:

I am banned from having new boots this year. Last years fly ones are still going well and I just cant really afford it. Winter and boots are my favourite season/footwear combo
