Black & White Stripey Tops - irrational dislike

I think it's fate I joined this forum (and had a good look through all the sub sections) as I found this thread.

I actually love stripey tops/shirts but have never told anyone or had the opportunity to say so in context, until today!

8 years ago I saw this advert for Mentos;
and think about it most days. The theme of making new friends at any age/not being something consigned to when you're young + connecting with people in a way that is like the innocence of youth.

So yeh, 'the girl in the stripey shirt' is a symbol of that but also a reminder that simple things in life are there just as much as the day to day things we can get bogged down in.

Unbearable on every level

Speaking of impressive, the 1984 thread has made me finally get around to listening to Zen Arcade by Husker Du - great album, undisputed winner of the "best 1984 album by a band from the Minneapolis-St Paul area breaking from their hardcore roots" award, and what fashion sense:

Although now that I've seen the large version of the picture it turns out that yer fella with the mustache is not actually wearing a conventional stripy top at all, but actually a tartan shirt that really looks like a stripy top when you see a small version of the image and haven't zoomed in. Fuck it, I've got this far with this post now, might as well go through with it.

I just gave up two seats on the train to a stripey shirted woman with a pram.
Not even a hint of a thank you from her.
One of my pet hates. Another is when I'm driving and I let somebody out at a junction, and they don't acknowledge the kind gesture. I'll continue to be nice, because I'm a nice person, and a lot of people will appreciate it. You just have to accept that there are plenty of cunts in the world.

cars slightly different i find, sometimes youve got to get on with driving...this train situation is inexcusable though.... I'll continue to be nice to people who wear stripey tops, because I'm a nice person, but....
