Best country for 'UK WFH'

Where is the best location for a UK based job that is 100% work from home.

I'm thinking good weather, beaches, quality of life and located anywhere in the world - but the requirement is to work a UK 9-5 hr schedule.

SE Asia would be my first option but the hr difference is too large. Any ideas on countries that give a good balance between time zone, no dark winters and a beach?

Not an option for me at the moment but it's nice to dream

West Africa, plenty to choose from Morocco to Gabon missing out the obvious dodge spots check out a few islands thrown in there as well

red earth, green vegetation, great beaches, great people, sun, cheap living costs

I remember a news article recently about an island that was offering work visas to UK residents. That was kind of why I started the thread. No idea where the island was though :D

Need beach. Hate winter.

A friend is currently in the Canary Islands and it looks pretty lush there still (although also empty) if his photos on facebook are owt to go by

Two Biggie's leap to mind when thinking about where...

Healthcare costs, and the cost of coming back - you may well think 'i'm not coming back', but lots who've said that do, and secondly you simply can't predict your situation in 30-40 years.

Personally I'd be thinking of Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Croatia, Slovenia, and Bulgaria.

Why go abroad? if you can work permanently from home then anywhere in the UK is good (once the lurgy has passed) Why not 'Escape To The Country?'

Depends how hot you want it. Malta would be easy for an English speaker, you'd want to be in the north of the island for the only decent beaches.

I'd go the North of Spain or Portugal though. Croatia or Greece also worth considering.

It probably is Portugal. It's warmest place all year round in mainland Europe. It's also cheaper than Greece, Turkey is cheaper I guess but alot further away.

A bunch of people at my work asked about the feasibility of this. Sadly told it was a distinct no for all sorts of legal & tax reasons.
Yeah, if you're planning on permanently living abroad, your work has to be prepared to pay your income tax in your country of residence. Fine if your employer has a branch there, not fine if it doesn't.
