Phil Jones deserves some abuse. Yes, he's a post-race interviewer and not a commentator/analyst/presenter but he's been getting away with journalistic murder down on the trackside and it's high time someone put the boot in.

Jones uses a mail-merge approach to his interviews - they're all the same with only the name of the person and the event they've taken part in being changed.

"I've got X with me here. Did you think you laid down a marker? Did you send a message to your rivals? Did you 'execute' your 'gameplan'? You're through to the semi finals/final how does that feel? You're Olympic champion, how does that feel?". Terrible stuff.

And as for conducting an interview with Bolt, Blake and Weir when the Kenyan national anthem was playing for Roedesha's medal cerremony... words fail me.

"You're Olympic champion, how does that feel?" - he also does, "You're Olympic champion, can you put how that feels that into words?" Waste of space. So lazy and such wasted opps.

"Chris Hoy, you're Olympic champion - can you tell Cavendish how that feels"

Well, it's a rubbish poll, imited by max 12 choices, bu t fwiw Michael Johnson is leading.

The bloke doing the sailing was well fucking :D

Cavendish did not look or sound comfortable. And I'll disagree with the majority re Thorpe - he came across as weird and creepily over-eager, and didn't offer much insight.

He doesn't ever - that's because he's not a media person whose been trained to par things down to soundbites. Hence why he kept getting rushed.

I wonder if Cav was lined up as an analyst before missing out on a medal in the road race. He seemed a bit pissed off to begin with then grew into the role as the days progressed. He even laughed at Jakes Humphries' joke about him having his photo taken with someone else's medal.

Steve Cram has been good. He's probably had more work to do than anyone else and always does well to build the excitement. He gets bonus marks for keenly reminding us who has convictions for doping offences before races get underway. He could barely hide his contempt for the womens 1500m winner last night.
