Once had a review which compared the band I was in to half man half biscuit. Needless to say it wasn't a compliment.

My favourite though was from an online reviewer on the horrific Slice the Pie website. "Overall the volume's too high in the mix"

I used to go to just about all their gigs for a while. I was fronting a punky R&B band at the time. After our band split the bass guitarist joined the Cannibals.

Fabulous band, and Micky was a real character too.

My brother was with them in the mid 80's it's on youtube now and I can't help but take the piss out of him haha.

I can't post youtube vids from work so I might post some of it in the youtube thread over the next few days.

A bizarre character if i ever met one. We got him to press the first Barse CD and he was fucking about (i think wanting us to pay £150 for artwork rearrangement) in the end we just said fuck it, make the back cover B & W. A month later, still nothing so we kept ringing and 2 months later it finally appears. Alarm bells shoulda started ringing when , before we paid for it, a 'pakistani' answered the phone and when we explained we just wanted payment details to pay for a pressing , the voice instantly changed to Mike !!!!

I did like the R n B guitars of bands like Count Bishops though.

I almost joined the Cannibals at one point. I would have been their 957th guitarist I think. They were just about to go on tour in Scandinavia and I'm sure it would have been a fairly fun, rock'n'roll experience, but I decided I wanted to get my own thing going instead. When I called Mike to tell him that I wasn't going to come in for audition after all, he went mental - he does have a reputation for being a firebrand, so maybe it would have been a nightmare. But I do regret it now. Even if I'd lasted a month, it would have been an experience. And it's not as if it was sophisticated music. I'm a pretty basic guitarist, but I would have been just right for the Cannibals I reckon.

Anyway, sorry Mike.
