Are all PCIe power cables the same?

I know there are 6 and 8 pin, but otherwise?

I have just bought an RTX 3060 and it has an 8 pin slot. I've looked through my nest of cables and can find everything that came with the mobo except for the 8 pin.

I have another computer and have the 8 pin cable* for that, but it doesn't seem to fit in the VGA1 slot on the PSU. All the shapes (round/square) seem to match except one. It says type 3 on the cable.

I have no idea what type my PSU is, but it's this: EVGA 600BQ

Any help much appreciated!

*It's actually 8 pins on one end and splits at the other end to 2x 6+2 pin.

No. Do not use cables from other power supplies!
