The iPhone SDK will not allow 3rd party apps to multitask or run background services but - much like the Palm - you can do some forms of multitasking, like receiving mail in the background and playing music while accessing other programs.Not trolling, just curious: is it true that on the iPhone there's no multi-tasking? I.E. you can't leave your mp3s playing whilst you're in Google Maps or writing a text?

Windows Mobile can do true multitasking but it's debatable whether it's such a great idea as it's easy to slow the phone down to a crawl with lots of apps open.
Edit: elsewhere, Apple have had their UK iPhone ad pulled for misleading punters about its speed.
