Interesting they got Domenech to read it out, you would have thought they wouldn't want it to seem like he was representing them in any way.France refused to train on Sunday because of striker Nicolas Anelka's expulsion, according to a letter written by them and read out to the media by coach Raymond Domenech."
From an article on L'Equipe's website, it looks as if it was passed to a press officer rather than Domenech, although it seems that Domenech read it out.Interesting they got Domenech to read it out, you would have thought they wouldn't want it to seem like he was representing them in any way.
Damn right, its a fucking awful attitude to take, not giving a toss about playing in the WC,most players would give their right leg to play in a major tournieThe FFA should just ban each and every one of the players from the national team for life - this is absolutely disgraceful. I would start with Ribery.
If the French don't turn up, Uruguay and Mexico either a) refuse to play either or b) agree between themselves to pass the ball around harmlessly in the middle of the field for 90 minutes and both qualify anyway. If they don't play their next game SA will win it by default presumably, although no idea by how many points. It'd be a bit unfair on Uruguay and Mexico tho - what will they have to do ? Postpone both matches?
I don't know if it's still the same, but I remember Scotland won a game 3-0 by default after their opposition (Estonia?) failed to turn up for a qualifier. If they don't play their next game SA will win it by default presumably, although no idea by how many points.
And if that happens, Mexico and Uruguay definitely agree among themselves to play out a 0-0 draw. It would be a total farce, but then Mexico and Uruguay can do that anyway if they want.I don't know if it's still the same, but I remember Scotland won a game 3-0 by default after their opposition (Estonia?) failed to turn up for a qualifier.
Evra said:“Nicolas Anelka isn't the problem with this team—it's the traitor” “It's the traitor we need to eliminate from the group, not Anelka,”
They'll play no doubt about that.
Anyone seen Army Of Shadows?
Yeah, they will. The French FA could sue every player for a lot of money if they refused to play. They'll play no doubt about that.
Who's the traitor?
Fitness trainer who leaked Anelka's comments, I believe.Who is the traitor? Gourcuff? Domenech? The laughably bad Govou? Another seventeen year old girl?

Maybe SA still have a chance after all - come on SA, get 5-0 ...
Yeah, they will. The French FA could sue every player for a lot of money if they refused to play.
They can't just 'claim' to be unfit. They need to be examined. The WC organisers would sue the French FA for loss of earnings, having to refund money to punters, potential sponsor money lost. France would also be banned from the next WC and the French FA would lose all the potential income from that. They could sue the players for an enormous amount of money. If every player claimed they were unfit there isnt a lot they could do about it. Guess the most they could sue for would be the value of their World cup contract which wont be a great deal.
Evra thinks not - apparently he's convinced it was player. See the blistering piece in Time.
