New and hopefully improved film coming up! Looking forward to it. No human/pred team ups this time.
Aliens vs. Predator (Alien vs. Predator 2) is the upcoming sequel to 2004's Alien vs. Predator film. Filming began on September 25, 2006 in Vancouver with Tom Woodruff, Jr. and Alec Gillis from Amalgamated Dynamics handling the special effects (as they did for the previous installment) and Daniel Pearl as director of photography. The Brothers Strause (Colin and Greg Strause) have directed the movie [2] from a script by Shane Salerno[3]. Steven Pasquale and Reiko Aylesworth will play leading roles in the film[4] which IMDb has reported as having a release date of December 25, 2007[5]. This date is strongly supported by the Australian release date on Boxing Day (26 December). [6] The film is expected to be rated R as opposed to the PG-13 rating of the original.[7]
A game has also recently been announced for the Sony PSP [8]. The game will center on the lone Predator cleaning up a mess left by a crashed ship.[9] This may also be the plot of the movie.
Images have surfaced showing that both creatures have gone through design changes since the original Paul Anderson directed Alien vs. Predator[10]. These include a return to the ridged-headed aliens last seen in Aliens [1] and a slimmer, more athletic Predator as seen in Predator and Predator 2[11].
It is also rumoured that the Predator variant of the Alien, the Predalien, will appear in the film, after being set up in Alien vs. Predator.[12]
New Predator technology is expected to be seen throughout the course of the film. A new clan Ship will be seen and Ian Whyte and the Strause Brothers have stated that there may be only one main Predator in the film. Other Alien hybrids might appear in the film, and there has been no one to yet confirm that an Alien Queen will be shown. Also it has been confirmed that no Human/Predator team-ups will occur.[13]
