So I got a (presumably standard) response right away, and credit where it’s due for their surprisingly fast response time. But they brushed aside my plea for a human to consider my plea to amend the rules and simply said trikes might be available for 100% discounts and to check out my model’s specs on the TfL webpage dealing with it. Which of course took me back to the ‘2-metre or less’ rule.
Last resort I guess to appeal to a higher power, such as the office of London’s Mayor. But I would sooner expect the head of the Taliban to agree to World Gay Pride 2025 to be held in Kabul than Mr Khan to make even the tiniest of concessions to any type of ICE vehicle even if the type they’re meant to promote over cars.
Oh well. My new location at work is just past the boundary of the CC zone off Piccadilly, and whenever I’ve ridden my bike there, it has never triggered a CC charge, so as long as I stick to the in and out route I’ve always used, I will likely escape being charged. Still, idiotic as fuck.
