Waze lets you choose between car and motorcycle, makes a big difference on the route choice in my experience. It knows you can filter more than have to do the rat runs. For the purpose of this question I am temporarily using this thread as a general motorcycle chat one. Are there any ‘motorcycle setting’ options on any satnavs out there? Or even a motorbike-specific service? In heavy traffic conditions I have sometimes felt I am being sent through a tortuous route designed for car drivers to make the best of a gridlocked area, when any bike could bypass the jam and stick to the shortest route.
..sorry to dig up such an old post...Vincent Black Shadow. 1000cc V twin.
Another bike I have never ridden. But I will ride one of these before I die, somehow somewhere I will get my chance. I don't need to own one, just take one for a ride that's all.
I wouldn't mind one of these, it is even older than my Suzuki was.

Saw one at a Fly In last summer, they actually look quite small now as we've all become used to seeing stupid huge SUV like 'adventure bikes'..sorry to dig up such an old post...
Chap who lived a few doors down from me had a Vincent Black Shadow almost exactly like this (shorter tail pipe, no silencer).
When he kick started it, you could literally feel the ground shaking!!!
Awesome f*cking machine. Pretty rare these days.
My first was a TS 250 of similar vintage, Learnt all about Rebores and rebuilds and how to re-align a crank with a mallet..............good timesGT 185
Am I showing my age or do some modern motorcycle designs owe more to transformers than elegant lines? This Yamaha is just butt ugly and some Kawasaki sports bikes look like they were made by a stoned teenager using nothing more than Lego!
Bet you can't do itHe's a great rider with a good shot at being WC this year, but he's going to talk himself out of a factory contract if he doesn't learn to keep his trap shut. Another Biaggi.
The shoulder down is just for the cameras in slow corners because there is fuck all rear grip at 57 deg.
WTF?!!! is it just a TS Engine or is the rolling chassis basically the same(frame has definately been fucked with to get the rearset pegs and shifter)
you can be the first !!Lovely, has anyone posted a pic of an MV Agusta 750S America yet?
In fairness, the Peugeot Metropolis is absolutely hideous, and should probably be banned from the roads completely, if only for the sake of my eyesI have written today to TFL asking them to reconsider their recent random decision to make my motorcycle no longer Congestion Charge exempt (AFAIAC the only motorcyle model sold in Europe), presumably because some busybody sad cunt at TFL looked up the official dimensions (the Peugeout Metropolis is a rare beast in the UK and undoubtedly unfamiliar to local authorities), and noticed it is a few cm longer than 2 m in length limit stated in TFL's own regulations for accepted bikes.
If it comes to it I will sell a bike, even though it has many years left in her, in order to buy another model a few cm shorter. A stupid move environment-wise, and I'd love to think my enquiry will be read by someone at TFL who is both not a complete moron and someone who could actually have some influence in whispering the folly of it all into the ear of the right people.
But I'm not holding my breath. So much for the principle of allowing perks and benefits for bike users to discourage car usage in London
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and I actually think it's far better looking than the boring Piaggio MP3. And so much better equipped and made as well (though that's certainly reflected in the price tag).In fairness, the Peugeot Metropolis is absolutely hideous, and should probably be banned from the roads completely, if only for the sake of my eyes
Motorbikes are now just lumped in with other petrol vehicles. That approach died off some years ago.So much for the principle of allowing perks and benefits for bike users to discourage car usage in London
Only in this cunting country though. Stupid in the extreme, and given that motorcycle riders need to be licensed, number plate-registered, and insured, only a complete fucking cunt would think they should be discriminated against vs electric pushbikes simply because the type of motor installed. I am genuinely tempted to surrender my licence and use an illegal electric pushbike. No insurance, de facto exempt from any and all Highway Code laws, and almost a full criminal immunity for all but the most outrageous acts of reckless conduct even if it resulted in serious injury or death. Hell, if I surrendered my licence I could even ride shitfaced every day, for all the consequences it would have if caught.Motorbikes are now just lumped in with other petrol vehicles.
