A seal at Woolwich... unusual or not?

Another day on that hamster wheel we call life
My wife just messaged to say she saw one in the river. Do they normally make it up that far?
 
Yep, there were a few in the Lea last week - it's normal.

Exciting to catch a glimpse of them and get a photo, but nothing to be concerned about.
 
We had a seal in the River Severn at Bewdley - 40 miles above the tidal reach.

It was called Keith - though turned out to be a lady seal. It hung about for 6 months and ate lots of fish, and ducks...
