A new idea from Sweden, old/young rental apartment blocks

MrCurry

right after this urgent rest
This is a new one on me, just spotted the video on BBC News, but on the face of it, seems like a great idea:

An apartment block in which the rentals may only be taken out by under 25s and the elderly, with socialising encouraged (even mandated through the rental contract).

What do you reckon, could it work in the UK? Would it be a positive thing?

Mandated social cohesion, sounds lovely.

i saw something recently, about the admixture of generations being particularly low in the uk. i figure the "grandmother effect" has a lot going for it. if you're hoping to eliminate echo-chambers (maybe that's just me 🤷) i figure "kids-nowadays" spending time with the war-baby generation can't help but improve empathy/understanding.
