Which SF book would you like to see as a film.

There's a few that come to mind. Philip Jose Farmer's 'Image of the Beast' & 'Blown' as directed by Cronenberg might be pretty entertaining for example.

Farmer's Riverworld was adapted into an American miniseries, but it was dreadful. It's such an interesting idea though that i'd like to see them try again.

Z is for Zacariah done as a two part intense beeb drama would be soooo awesome

Ooh yes please! It'd be a piece of piss to film as well, all you need is a nice little valley with a house in it (in Wales obviously) and two good actors.

Consider Phlebas anyone.

Of course.

I believe I made exactly the same suggestion on previous threads with similar themes...

I reckon maybe James Cameron could pull it off.

Some China Mieville. Probably Perdido Street Station would make the best film. It would have to be cut down a bit, but most things would.

Again, yes - but I reckon in some ways The Scar would be a better movie.

If choreographed well and with the right FX work, the Possible Sword battles would be ace.

I reckon that rather than try and ram many of these books into films, the mini-series format would give proper 'room' to them.

The Banks books...I dunno if making films about a meddling Marxist techno-utopia where everyone spends their time fucking, getting high and interfering in the development of other species would sell too well...if they did, then Player of Games would be a good start rather than Phlebas...
