What sports have you suddenly become interested in just because it's the Olympics?

I'm the same every time the Olympics is on. I watch nearly everything even though i have no interest in sport usually at all (apart from darts ;))

After the games i go back to normal and don't bother again for another few years. I do watch the odd gymnastics or athletics championship though, but it's those sports that you don't often get to see and you never thought you'd like that i seem to go mad for.

I always watch the track and field and the gymnastics, but then i find myself up in the middle of the night watching something i've previously had no interest in whatsoever as if it's now the most important thing ever :D

I really got into the kayaking, the diving and the table tennis at the last Olympics.

So what sports are you watching and enjoying that you've never really bothered/liked before?

*waits for inevitable beach volleyball comments* ;):D

Sports that i've become interested in....

I enjoyed watching the Archery competion beacuse i give kudos to any man or woman who has to aim then shoot the arrow 70m at the target whilst hoding the bow as straight as possible. It's certiainly a test of patience and accuracy.

I quite liked the Equestrian three day eventing as well:oops: , even though i don't watch it that often

I haven't watched the Taekwondo and Handball (because of the speed & tempo of the game tournamnent) yet. . I'm interested in that

Yeah. You kind of think that the 10m airgun might be slightly easier than that :D

Mind you that's coming from me who wants Olympic darts which is even closer to the board than that :D

I think sychronised diving is a great spectator sport and could be huge. Add some marching flair and it would be packing them in. It's a real crowd pleaser :D

I like quite a lot of them always in the olympics but barely follow the sport afterwards, swimming being the main one. Also suddenly have an interest in cycling(the one where we got a gold medal in;)) , always liked kayaking in the olympics aswell. Oh and ofcourse, beach volleyball. :D

i'm enjoying the swimming, hardly ever watch it non olympics, the diving was good, although i didn't really have any idea how they marked, all the dives looked pretty good to me :D and the gymnastics - the floor exercises, i like the tumbling  they should be allowed to do the high jump like that:D

I'm starting to get very fond of Judo: short, but very intense bouts, and it's incredible to see someone with an almost untouchable advantage to lose it all on a Ippon on the last 20 seconds. Or "very close" matches being decided by a fast sweep in 20 seconds.

i have a big interest in athletics i usually follow this whenever it is on. i only watch the gymnastics at the big events like the olympics
i am suddenly really interested in the swimming, though i've always watched it(and have favoured the diving) i am now really enjoyng it.
found myself watching the rowing and feeling quite involved so i reckon rowing is the new one

sychronised diving - magical this morning!!

I always like to watch the sailing, am often interested in the diving, but only for the Olympics.

Horses of course, the 3 day eventing dressage fascinates me, can't wait for the pure dressage, but that's my sport and Im sure would bore the rest of you silly!

And I've just found the horses on iPlayer................ :D :D

You know, I wasn't really all that big on darts beforehand but I'm getting keener on it now that it's in the Olympics. I've got a dartboard on my Amazon wishlist now, and I might invest in a lager tap.

I'll watch most things. Never managed to catch any kayaking except for the odd highlights in previous olympics, would love to see it though. Olympic boxing, never usually watch boxing except for non ppv world champ fights. I'd also like to see trampolining and last olympics i quite enjoyed the rhythmic gymnastics. Always watch olympic swimming but never at any other time. Sailing, rowing, modern pentathlon, horse jumping but not dressage as i've no clue whats going on.

I gorge myself on most sports during olympics tbh, fills me up for the next 4 years :D

That womens road race that Nicola Cook won yesterday was fantastic - and I'd have said so even if we hadn't won a medal at all. It had everything - terrible conditions, constantly changing leaders, crashes, great scenery, a man with a cloth wiping the camera lens, ridiculous commentary, and then a brilliant race to the line. I doubt that I will see anything that compelling for the rest of the games. And I don't really care about cycling.

Forgot to add i enjoy olympic hockey, can't wait for this GB V Argentina game to get going, argentina 2nd in the world, we got the hardest group, lost to world number 1 germany 5-1 last game.

2-0 down with 6 and a half mins left of the 1st half.

2-2 15 mins to go.

2-2 it finished. :)

This year i'm definitely getting into the basketball, but why is there only one game on a day? I'm sure there actually isn't, but why can't i watch all the basketball matches on the red button

There just seems to be only one on late at night...

Ooh. Just thought. Can i watch it online or is it the same coverage as what's on the red button. Anyone know?

I watched and quite enjoyed the USA-China match. I haven't watched any basketball for years, since C4's bried foray into it, but it was quite interesting, seeing how the tactics were unfolding.
