I've never really got why the Kinks aren't more rated than they are... I guess the production on some of the records isn't as good as the Beatles... but Ray Davies songwriting surely is a match for anything.

I believe they were banned from touring the USA during their peak (mid to late 60s), unlike other contemporary British groups that have more recognition.
