What film is this?

1927

Funnier than he thinks he is.
I have a vague memory of wastching a film as a child, early 70s, and there is a scen when a replica of the statue of liberty is being lifted off ship and loads of money falls out of the statue.

In my head I thought it was French Connection, but cant find any reference to the scene at all online.

Please tell me I havent imagined this scene.

can someone who knows what their doing please edit wiki, just in case there is someone else in the world who is wondering what the hell the film was called and is confused why it doesnt get a mention in wiki!!

I wouldn't know how to do that I'm afraid

why have u linked to a book when IMDB is more apt:

http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0064146/
because thats how she found the film in the first place, and imdb tells you nothing about the film!

Exactly. This is what imdb says about it

Arthur and Anatole are two little robbers. They want to rob money, money that will travel in a special train from Paris to Bruxelles. They don't know that other people have planned to do the same thing. Written by Jean-Yves Simon <simon@wotangate.micro.ti.com>

Would you know from that description that a replica Statue of Liberty features thriller?

I think I would given the faces on the poster. It would have rang a bell for me. But maybe it'S also because I am more of a movie afficianado than the OP.

I loved The French Connection, I am pretty sure I saw it first as the B movie (back in the day when you got 2 films at the cinema, often with an older film filling the opening slot) with a crap Spiderman film heading the bill. This would have been sometime in the mid to late '70s.
