If someone says they have been assaulted, they have been assaulted, unless there is overwhelming evidence that they haven't.
Who in their right mind would make that sort of allegation up? To go through absolute hell in the legal process, with a slim chance the assailant might get convicted?

None of the women he assaulted went to the police. They were all young black women and girls who he assaulted either in clubs or by luring them back to his flat. The woman I heard on the radio described how he got her into his flat on the pretext of listening to her demo, got his cock out, left the room, returned naked, turned her around and raped her.
The BBC described it as ‘had sex with her’. She was 19 year old black woman, in the home of a famous white DJ. The safest thing for her to do was to let him rape her. And who would have believed her? No one.

I still tune in sometimes, and follow him on Instagram. Until now I found him quite funny, and had a lot of time for his genuine love and dedication to hip hop. It's a real fucking shame he turned out to be so loathsome.

The age thing is weird. I mean, it's one thing to knock a couple of years off, plenty of people do that, especially if they're in the public eye. But pretending to be 27 when you're 43 - wonder if that should've been a red flag. Not saying it was, just I wonder.

Before I'd even read the story yesterday a friend posted on social media about a 17 year old he knew who Westwood was chasing at an event about 10 years ago. Hopefully the program will give more women the confidence to come forward. Maybe the laughable caricature of a posh boy who thinks he's black allowed him to hide in plain sight, but he's clearly very dangerous where young women are concerned.
My son just came down and told me it was plainly obvious from his social media posts. He called out the Benjamin Mendy rape allegations for the same reason so it's obvious that predatory men are operating openly on these platforms....almost like their behaviour is normalised even.

Those of us with long memories will recall how Westwood was shot in Kennington in 1999 after appearing at the Lambeth Country Show - Radio 1 DJ shot in gangland-style hit - rereading the article today it seems he was trying to appear younger at the time as it states he was 30 when he was at least 41/42
