Weird dead hawk (?) moth (spoilered)

I think I put it somewhere safe, but it would be handy to know the food plant so I could relocate it...

Plenty of lime trees on site, so I will see what I can do ...
i wonder if relocated larvae would actually be super-fussy ...

Lime Hawkmoth
life cycle, Mimas tiliae
Eggs are laid in small batches on the larval foodplant – a variety of deciduous leaves including lime, birch, elm and alder (ref Porters – see recommended reference books). Females attracted to light readily lay eggs and the hatching larvae are easily reared through.

Nearest trees were birch :)

Last week I noticed something odd on the bathroom window, but dismissed it as a sticker or something else child-related

Thursday I saw the thing had changed shape...and there was MOVEMENT

Proper cartoon concertina movements. Mrs SI washed them off and onto the kitchen roof below as I think they'd been eating only one another. I wanted to keep one and raise it as my moth child, loving and protecting it and feeding it apple, carrot, and steadily increasing doses of radioactive material
