It's crazy that initially, there were people who believed that bombs being dropped on Ireland were somehow the work of Britain, not Germany. (And others in Belfast were burning their gas masks, because of defiance to the blackout.)
The rumours took a drop after the horrific bombing of the city April 15/16 1941 when 900 people were killed.
