Graduate and apprentice trainees at TfL are appealing to Sadiq Khan to fulfil his manifesto commitment, expecting “all employers to be willing to have a trade union recognition agreement for all their employees, and (I) will use GLA procurement to maximise their use”. So far, TfL has consistently rejected requests for collective bargaining - its reason being is that graduates and apprentice are on trainee contracts. However, graduates and apprentices are employees, and are entitled to the same rights as our fellow staff members.

It seems many people are unaware that this is the case, including it seems Sadiq Khan himself. How can he chair a company that doesn't reflect the values of the manifesto he was elected on?

There are graduates and apprentices living both in and outside of London, but together are working to make London a better place. It's for the benefit of future of our careers but also for ensuring that TfL remains a sustainable authority, ready to serve the London of the future.
