spotted these in jersey.

Those fucking things are the most dangerous thing on a farm (or they were before the cabs.) Those slippery metal seats that could send you down under the wheels, propensity to roll on the slightest of hills...most frightening machine I've operated.
I remember my great aunt saying her husband got piles from years of sitting on one of those uncomfortable tractor seats while working on a farm. No idea if it was true, but probably not good for you to sit on a cold metal seat day after day.

This was inspired by watching tractor pulling championships which have been shown quite a lot on freeview recently. I have seen tractor pulling in the flesh a few times and not taken a lot of notice. Watching on the box, I'm amazed by all the different classes there are.

Is it the surfeit of wheels, or something else? I don't like the black smoke that it's chucking out - that looks nasty too. :(
China used to have a lot of these walking tractors with just two wheels, still get new models made and think they're popular elsewhere, devloping countries mostly but also small farms in richer places:

Here's a bonus pic of a now elderly Liang Jun with print of the 1962 series one dollar bill which uses a picture of her taken in 1959 when she was among the first to drive one of the new domestically designed and produced East is Red 54 series tractors:

If you want to know where to fine a REAL tractor then Powderham Castle just outside of that Exeter is where you'll find this beauty

And this is a proper tractor, you can start it with a blank shot gun cartridge
