Loved Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test when I read it in the 80s. Bonfire of the Vanities is on my long list of books I want to read.

I think I have read both the Bonfire of the Vanities and The Right Stuff at least 3 times each and I don't usually reread books. I just love those books so bloody much.

I don't think the film of Bonfire is all that bad but the book is so massive, it would be better as a series. A single film could never do it justice. And it's got Tom Hanks in it. And I confess to loving Tom Hanks

Oh! I didn't see this at the time. I read The Right Stuff on holiday last year, having long owned Acid Test and Bonfire. A great writer.
