Toilets on the Underground.

I also recall a number of the stations had buffets ... fond memories of travelling around on a "day ticket" to search out "hot sausage rolls" and a cuppa when I was nobbut a callow youth. On my own !

I remember the little bar at Sloane Square station. We used to nip in for a half while waiting for the right train.

Despite living in London since 1983, I don't remember any tube stations with toilets!

Would need a whole new station building with escalators. The old lifts aren't nearly enough to handle the numbers.
Also the platforms are too short for the in-production New Tube For London trains.
Also the bean counters consider the extra delay for incoming commuters to not be worth the local benfit.

I may be wrong on this, but I think that re-opening York Road (or any other 'ghost station') it would need to meet current standards for underground stations - and think that means a second exit (the standards were upped after the Kings Cross)

There are toilets at Abbey Wood but CBA to check the rest of the Elizabeth line.

There's bogs at Farringdon, but think they are technically on the Thameslink platform not the underground platform. Not sure about the Lizard line.

Did the Elizabeth Line get designed with bogs in mind? Can't say I've noticed any but then I'm pretty much pre-programmed to not need a piss on London Transport.
Aren't there bogs on the trains themselves? That’d be a shocker…

I think the ones at Abbey Wood are part of the original rail station rather than purpose-built for the Lizzie line add-on.

Stratford has a terrible one on the Jubilee line platform. Hidden behind the lifts and definitely only for use in emergencies. Absolutely disgusting.

Oakwood Station always locked theirs which was fucking stupid. It was cleaned because staff could use it so I can omky imagine it was closed out of spite. I used to work in one of the cancessions there and had a key which I would lend to random members of the public.
The Stratford one is disgraceful. Loads of graffiti, shit, obvious needle use and all within a space the size of two broom cupboards. Combined with West Ham not having any toilets it is often the place of last resort for those caught short.
There are loads on the district lines eastern edges but they have bizarre opening times i.e. close at 3 pm, and are positioned at the very end of platforms. The central lines eastern fringes around Loughton and Epping are most civilized with house plants between the Armitage Shanks.
