Three people killed, several injured after knife attack in Germany 23/08/24

It looks like three people have been killed, eight people injured.

The attacks happened at around 9.40 PM in a square in the centre of Solingen, where a festival of diversity was being held to mark the city's 650th anniversary. The festival started yesterday (Friday 23rd) and was to last until tomorrow, but the remaining acts and events have been cancelled.

The knife attacker is unknown and has not been apprehended.

Syrian national Issa Al H (family name omitted because of German privacy laws) has been named in Germany as the man suspected of carrying out a knife attack at a festival in Solingen, which left a 56 year-old woman and two men aged 56 and 67, dead, after handing himself in to police:
