This is a great piece by the chair of Greenwich Council’s Planning Board explaining the series of budget cuts and fuck ups that led to the Woolwich Central development being nominated for Building Design magazine’s 2014 Carbuncle Cup.

It is a great piece. But it really does illustrate what a complete bunch of numpties they have on planning boards. So many fuck-ups so entirely predictable. Time and again we see this sort of thing happening.

I saw it last year, they actually managed to build something far uglier than the dull seventies offices and university halls of residence it replaced.
